iRubric: Expressive Bust / Sculpture rubric

The project has large cracks and areas where the work was not connected properly. Pieces have fallen off or broken due to a lack of attention to the design and nature of the clay. scoring and slipping were not done properly

The project is secure and stable on the surface. The design is stable and there are only small surface cracks and minimal damage to the work.

The work is well designed and properly formed. There are minimal issues with it's drying and attachments. the piece is smooth

The work is well constructed and the form is complex and displays a great understanding of the drying process and work ability of the clay. There are no appearances of cracks, weak areas, or rough edges. the piece is very smooth

The over all concept was not considered. The artist just "went for it" without constructing or sketching out any designs. There is not a unique element in the work. It was copied from another work.

The project was planned, but resulted in a basic figure. The artist did not spend significant effort in adding elements of character or clothing which would set the figure apart.

The artist designed and constructed a well thought out work which contains unique supporting elements. The application of surface techniques adds to the interest of the work and was thoughtfully considered.

This work is truly different and stands apart in it's concept. The artist was original and found their own voice in how they approached the work.
The materials used were different, and made the work unique. The artist stretched themselves and took risks with their idea.
