Looks like - Student does not attempt to bump when appropriate, does not display any understanding of bump technique. Unable to successfully bump the ball the majority of the time.
Fair

Looks like - student often sets to avoid bump, legs are not bent, force comes mostly from arms, bump is often too hard or too week, ball strikes wrists and hands rather than forearms, ball often goes wrong direction due to bad contact
Good

Looks like - student sometimes sets when they should bump, legs need to be used more, ball is bumped off hands and wrists mostly with some bumps off forearms, bumps are difficult for student to control
Excellent

Looks like - student uses the bump when appropriate, legs are bent and shoulder width apart, hits the ball off the forearms rather than the wrists or hands, controls bump well'

Looks like - does not demonstrate any ability to properly set a volleyball. Unable to successfully set the ball the majority of the time

Looks like - one hand slaps, uses closed fingers to smack the ball, very little legs involved in the set, poor control of direction

Looks Like - player sometimes fails to get under ball, uses two hands to set, has difficulty achieving good ball height and direction, legs are involved moderately, ball is still hit with hands more than set with fingers
Excellent

Looks like - player gets under ball, elbows out fingers spread, legs bent. Ball is set high for next player, good control of direction and force
Serve

Poor

Looks like - cannot serve the ball effectively. Unable to serve the ball over the net in bounds the majority of the time.

Looks like - Foot placement is wrong, does not step with non dominant foot during serve, moves the ball while attempting to hit it, has difficulty controlling direction and distance
Good

Looks like - sets up feet correctly, serves the ball over the net with consistency, makes minor mistakes while serving such as moving the ball or not stepping into serve
Excellent

Looks like - sets up properly, steps into serve with non dominant foot, can serve over the net with control consistently. Ability to serve the ball to a specific spot consistantly
Teamwork

Poor

Looks like - does not support teammates in a positive manner, says negative comments to players who make mistakes, jumps in front of teammates during gameplay, does not stay in their spot
Fair

Looks like - rarely talks or encourages teammates who make mistakes or do something well, sometimes goes out of their position to hit a ball that should be played by teammate
Good

Looks like - sometimes attempts to help and encourage teammates, gives positive comments, stays in position and attempts to let others play their position without interfering
Excellent

Looks like - consistently helpful and supportive to teammates, encourages teammates throughout game, displays positive attitude when winning or losing, does not criticize teammates when the make a mistake.
