"Visual Music" Assessment

Students will write a two-paragraph paper that must include the following: 1) the story/ meaning behind their painting. 2) at least three vocabulary words/ definitions from lesson. 3) whether or not they think their painting is art and why.

Student is descriptive. Student describes the story and/or meaning behind their painting.	Poor Student is not descriptive.	Fair Student is somewhat descriptive.	Good Student is descriptive.	Excellent Student is very descriptive.
Vocabulary. Student must provide & define at least three vocabulary words.	Poor Student provides no vocabulary words.	Fair Student provides some words, but does not elaborate/ define them.	Good Student provides/ defines two vocabulary words.	Excellent Student provides/ defines 3+ vocabulary words.
Aesthetics. Student must state whether or not they believe their painting is a work of art and explain why.	Poor student does not write about aesthetics.	Fair Student writes about aesthetics, but does not explain why.	Good Student writes about aesthetics and somewhat explains why.	Excellent Student writes about aesthetics and explains why.
