Free throw skills assessment rubric 
Students will be graded based on their ability to perform proper mechanical techniques of shooting a basketball. While the amount of free throws made will be taken into account; the main focus is the student's ability to perform fundamental free throw skills.

Student's understanding of B.E.E.F.

Poor

Student cannot recite or perform any of the aspects of B.E.E.F. Student retains a free throw average of 10% or lower.
Fair

He/she can recite the aspects of B.E.E.F. but performance is lacking, and/or not natural. Student has a free throw average of 30% or greater.
Good

Student has a thorough understanding of B.E.E.F., and how to perform the proper mechanics on their own. Refinement of skills requires more practice through repetition. Student retains free throw average of 50% or greater.
Excellent

Student has and exceptional understanding of B.E.E.F., and performs the mechanics naturally, and consistently. Requires a shooting average of 60% or greater.
