Footwork

Poor

Feet do not move, or have very little movement not towards the direction of where the pitch is coming from.
Fair

Front foot moves towards the pitch, back foot leaves the ground and moves.
Good

Front foot moves towards the pitch, and back foot pivots in a bug squashing motion never leaving the ground.
Excellent

Keeps front toe pointed toward pitcher and front leg straight with no bend in knee. Back foot pivots and hips rotate through the swing, back foot does not leave the ground.
Body Position

Poor

Body turns all the way around with the swing. .
Fair

Body turns a little, but does not turn all the way around to face pitcher.
Good

Body stays closed. Shoulders do not open up and face the pitcher.
Excellent

Hips are rotated through and squared to where the ball was hit. Feet are balanced.
Hands

Poor

Dominate hand is not on top when gripping bat.. Hands are spread apart when gripping the bat.
Fair

Hands are placed towards end of the bat, and dominate hand is on top. Hands are not together.
Good

Hands are gripping the bat towards the bottom . Dominate hand is on top.
Excellent

Hands are placed correctly on bat with dominate hand on top. Wrists roll over as bat makes contact with ball.
