Excellent The sqraffito design shows contrast in light and dark, and/or texture.	Good Project shows adequate understanding of contrast as a principle of art.	Fair Project complete but shows little evidence of planning or understanding of how to use contrast as a decorative principle.	Poor Project incomplete or complete but shows no evidence of understanding using contrast as a decorative principle.
Creativity 25 pts Student either put their own touches on the lion template or created an original design.	Excellent The design fills the tile and creatively demonstrates the use of contrast. The design and/or treatment is unique.	Good The design demonstrates contrast. The design fills most of the tile.	Fair Project finished but does not fill the tile or demonstrate a good use of contrast as a decorative principle.	Poor Project incomplete or complete with no evidence of experimentation.
Craftsmanship 25 pts The tile is even thickness. The finish is smooth, the edges are level and uniform. The decoration is clean and neat. Lines are crisp.	Excellent Project refined with obvious technical intent. The tile has clean edges, smooth surface and clean clear line detail. Meticulous construction.	Good Project mostly refined with some areas that could use additional attention.	Fair Project finished but not very refined.	Poor Project finished with no attention to detail. Quickly thrown together.
Effort 25 pts Student gave this project their best effort. They were patient, focused.	Excellent Student used class time effectively, exceeded requirements. On task 90% of the time.
