Effort

Poor

Student had trouble staying focused on project. Either finished terribly early because they rushed through or finished late because they procrastinated working. Work is sloppy and looks like student didn't care. No corrections were made.
Fair

Off task frequently. Did not reflect back over work. Did not use class time well. May have finished early and didn't reflect over work for corrections and /or improvements. Work was completed but was not overall very neat. Looks a little rushed.
Good

Worked most of the class time. Occasionally off task. Checked back over work but did not correct all needed mistakes or make all needed improvements. Effort was made to do work neatly for the most part.
Excellent

Worked diligently in class. Was focused. Used maximum amount of time allotted. Reflected back over work to check for mistakes and/or make improvements. Asked for help when needed.
Effort was made to do work neatly.
Neatness/Craftsmanship

Poor

Work is sloppy. Care was not taken to be neat at all. Student did not follow the rules for how to make the project.
Fair

Work has some neatness issues here and there, but for the most part looks okay. Looks like student completed the work but not clear that they cared about doing a good job.
Good

Work has one maybe two areas that could be improved with neater work but otherwise was well done and apparent student took the time to do a good job and cared about their grade.
Excellent

This work has virtually no neatness flaws. Student was extra careful to be neat with all aspects of creating the project. Obvious that they care about doing their best.
Use of Space

Poor

The main objects in this project covered less than half the page. Due to their small size or due to them being clumped together, it is hard to tell what the focus of the composition is.
Fair

The main objects in this project cover about half the page and look very unbalanced or just get lost in the wide open background.
Good

The main objects in this project cover at least 75% of the page but look unbalanced as a whole.
Excellent

The main objects in this project covered almost the entire page and is balanced in appearance.
Creativity

Poor

This student chose ideas commonly seen and presented them in very normal ways. They stuck with their first ideas or watched what others were doing and took ideas from their work. Nothing was their own idea that I can tell.
Fair

This student chose some ideas that were common as well as some that were unique. Presentation was also a mixture of creative mixed with commonly seen. This student came up with a couple of good ideas on their own but slacked on the rest.
Good

The ideas presented by this student were not original, as I have seen a lot of them, but were presented in a creative or unusual manner. Most of the ideas presented here were unique to the student.
Excellent

The ideas presented by this student were unique and or unusual, not repeated by more than one or two other students in all my classes.
Effectiveness of Movement

Poor

This student did not meet the goal of creating a sense of motion or movement in the project.
Fair

This student's work showed some characteristics that alluded to movement, but it was not entirely effective.
Good

This student's work shows movement pretty well but something just seems a bit off.
Excellent

This student showed great movement in this project through use of art elements and principles.
