Attractiveness & Organization	Advanced The brochure has exceptionally attractive formatting & well-organized information. It has a front, inside, and back. All of the required information is included in each section.	Proficient The brochure has attractive formatting & well-organized information. Most of the required information is included but may not be in the correct area or may be incomplete.	Developing The brochure has well-organized information. Some of the required information is included but may not be in the correct area or may be incomplete.	Emerging The brochure’s formatting & organization are confusing to the reader. Musch information is missing or is not in the correct area.
Graphics /Pictures	Advanced Graphics compliment the text, and do not distract from the text. There are appropriate pictures that illustrate Black History well.	Proficient Graphics go well with the text, and there are not so many that they distract from the text.	Developing Graphics go well with the text, but there are too few/too many and the brochure seems to have too much text.	Emerging Graphics do not go with the accompanying text or appear to be randomly chosen, or are missing.
Frequency of participation	Advanced Actively supports, engages and listens to peers. Comments advance the level and depth of the dialogue. Group dynamic and level of discussion are consistently better because of the student’s presence.	Proficient Makes a sincere effort to interact with peers. Participates constructively in discussions.	Developing Preparation, and therefore level of participation, are both inconsistent.	Emerging Rarely participates. Comments are generally vague or drawn from outside of the assigned material.
