Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the 5 foot positions, as well as the five arms positions in dance.

Demonstrates good knowledge of the basic positions of dance, only missing one.
Acceptable

Demonstrates knowledge of positions with Some errors(3-5 errors) causing brief pause in performance.
Partial

Demonstrates some knowledge of choreography, but unsure of some movements. Sometimes hesitates/ watches others and makes several errors

Remembers a few of the steps/ movements and tries, but looks lost with little to no confidence.

Excellent

The dancer executes all parts of the ballet barre with precision and poise. Each barre exercise is executed fully. Able to fully remember sequence. Dancer is a true joy to watch.
Good

The dancer executes most of the barre exercises correctly but has some technical problems with a few of them. Remembers sequence. Still very pretty and nice to watch.
Acceptable

The dancer executes some of the barre exercises correctly but loses form and has a difficult time remembering sequence. Occasionally loses focus.
Partial

The execution is generally not focused, but only some attempts are made to complete exercises. Having to follow or look around for sequence.
Minimal

The dancer is not very focused on making any attempts to execute barre exercises and gives up on trying.

Terminology of basic ballet barre vocabulary.

Excellent

Shows a complete understanding and ability to define ballet barre terms. Can properly place them in their correct order. Can match the french term with the english meaning.
Good

Shows an understanding of terms and is able to define most(1-2 wrong). Can still properly place most of them in correct order (1-2).
Acceptable

Shows somewhat of an understanding of terms and is able to define a few(3-5 wrong).
Can place a few terms in the correct order(3-5 wrong)
Partial

Shows little understanding of terms and is unable to define a few terms. (more than 5 wrong)
Can not place terms in correct order(more than 5 wrong)
Minimal

Dancer knows no terms and can not place the terms in the correct order.
But put in effort to try.
