Geometric Shape Animals

Students will create a picture of an animal using only geometric shapes. They will break down the complex organic shape of an animal into simpler geometric shapes.

Use of Geometric shapes.	Excellent/Superior Student uses only Geometric shapes to make the drawing.	Very good Student uses mostly Geometric shapes to make the drawing.	Good/Average Student makes some use of Geometric shapes but also draws organic shapes.	Unacceptable Student does not use Geometric shapes in the drawing and draws organic shapes or the contour line only.
Effort & Clean Up	Excellent/Superior Student shows excellent effort in project. Project is not rushed and it is neat. Student is engaged and focused on their project. Student's area is cleaned and in the same condition it was when entering the room. Materials are put away and student is ready for dismissal.	Very good Student shows effort in project. Project is a little rushed and it is somewhat neat. Student is engaged and focused on their project. Student uses some of their time wisely to clean up after each art class - not all materials are put away and sometimes student is ready for dismissal.
