WORD PROBLEM	Below Student was unable to write or solve a word problem.	Approaching Student was able to write a word problem, but either did not solve, or did not write a comparison problem.	On Student was able to write and solve a comparison word problem.	Above Student was able to write and solve a comparison word problem, using grade level vocabulary and including extra information.
USING MULTIPLE STRATEGIES	Below Student was unable to solve the word problem in more than two ways.	Approaching Student solved the word problem in only two ways.	On Student solved the word problem using 3-4 strategies.	Above Student solved the problem in more than 5 ways.
NEATNESS & ACCURACY	Below Both word problem, solution, and possible strategies were difficult to read and understand based on neatness or inaccuracies.	Approaching Student work was not neat, or significant errors were made concerning accuracy.	On Student work was neat and accurate.	Above Student work was very neat, colorful, labeled correctly, and the math work was accurate. Student may have checked their work.
