Acrylic Painting with photo reference Watercolor- Candy Composition For this project, students will use their knowledge of color mixing and brush skills to create an Acrylic painting that looks like their reference photograph. Brush work	Poor Student used no variation in brush strokes, sizes or clean edges of paint.	Fair Student used variation in brush strokes, sizes or clean edges of paint, but needs additional practice or improvement.	Good Student used variation in brush strokes, sizes or clean edges of paint, but needs additional practice or improvement in one area.	Excellent Student shows great use of variation on brush strokes, sizes of brushes, and edges of paint.
Color	Poor Colors are painted sloppily, and no attention was given to light and shadow.	Fair Some thought is given to how colors show variation in light and shadow, but application is lacking. Some mistakes with the paint are visible.	Good Color mixing techniques are present but could be improved upon.	Excellent Color mixing techniques are present and applied thoughtfully. The painting could not be improved upon.
Craftsmanship	Poor Skill level of all mediums very low. Sloppily done. Pencil lines are clearly visible. Paper is ripped or torn.	Fair More time was given to the use of media, but still had problems filling in spaces with acrylic paint. Pencil lines are erased but may still be visible. The paper may be bent.	Good Skill level is on grade level. Student's use of media was very good with the exception of a few places which needed some extra added time. The paper is in good shape.	Excellent The student's media skill level is exceptional. All media used is done with great time and care. Nothing could be added or taken away to improve the painting. No pencil lines are visible. The paper is in great condition.
Understanding	Poor The student shows little understanding of color mixing and painting.	Fair The student shows understanding of paint mixing and painting but needs improvement.	Good The student shows understanding of paint mixing or using paint brushes, but can improve slightly in one of these areas.	Excellent The student shows understanding of paint mixing and using paint brushes correctly. This student could teach these techniques to others.
