Follow margin and letter and word spacing rules. Choose appropriate font. Use proper emphasis.

Poor

Window sign looks crowded to edges. Letter and word spacing is wrong. No clear emphasis or focal point.
Fair

Adequate margins around sign but still looks too crowded. Emphasis not immediately apparent. Choice of font not as legible as it could be or too fancy.
Good

Good margins and good spacing of both letters and words. Good emphasis and appropriate font.
Excellent

Balanced and centered sign. Excellent letter and word spacing. Emphasis is clear and chosen font fits the type of business and is clearly legible.
Layout pattern on window.

Pattern centered with adequate top and bottom margins and is on the inside of the window. All guidelines are clearly delineated.

Poor

Pattern and all layout lines on wrong side of window. Pattern is not aligned to edges of window and appears crooked. Layout lines are too weak to see from outside of glass.
Fair

Pattern is fairly straight and layout lines can be seen. Pattern is on inside of glass and is properly taped to glass.
Good

Pattern in centered and appears straight. Layout lines are clear and pattern is taped securely to glass.
Excellent

Pattern is exactly centered on glass and all layout lines are clear and distinct and straight. Layout lines are suffieciently dark to read from opposite side of glass.Pattern is secure on window.
Painting on the window.

Guidelines are taped accurately and paint is applied evenly and colors chosen have good value contrast. All lettering strokes are straight and clean.

Poor

Taping is not accurate to guidelines. Lettering is sloppy and paint coverage is spotty with too many brush strokes. Paint is either too thin or too thick. Negative area has drips and spots from sloppy application of paint. Final window looks messy. Removed tape has left ragged edges.
Fair

All guidelines are taped and somewhat accurate. Paint coverage is fair but still has some streaking and coverage is spotty. Negative space still has some unwanted paint spots. Removed tape has left ragged edges.
Good

Tape has been accurately applies and paint coverage is fairly streak free and coverage is good with just a few weak areas. Negative glass areas are clean and taped lines are clean after remova.
Excellent

Tape has been applied properly and burnished tightly. All brush strokes are even and consistent. No streaking inside letters. All lines are distinct and clear with no paint leakage from proper removal of tape. Window is clean and neat with no excess paint.
