Flag Football Skills Students will be given a performance grade based upon the following flag football skills.
	Insufficient Evidence 5 pts	Limited 6 pts	Satisfactory 7 pts	Proficient 8 pts	Excellent 10 pts	TOTAL POINTS 20 pts
PASSING Demonstrates understanding of offensive passing strategies.	Insufficient Evidence Insufficient evidence to assess. Participation is crucial to changing this grade	Limited Student fails to throw the football with proper form throughout the unit.	Satisfactory Student picks up the basic skills on how to pass but at times does not use the skills properly.	Proficient Student passes the ball correctly most of the time. The student uses the correct passing technique. Missing one of the following: Fingers on the laces, hand positioned on backside of ball, step towards target with non-dominant foot, non-dominant shoulder pointed towards target, bring throwing elbow close to ear	Excellent Student passes the ball with proficiency. Able to pass to stationary and moving targets during game play. CATCHING Exhibits skill to catch a pass throw while stationary and moving.	Insufficient Evidence Insufficient evidence to assess. Participation is crucial to changing this grade	Limited Student fails throughout the unit to improve or correctly catch the ball throughout the flag football unit.	Satisfactory Student can perform skill with some consistency in a non game situation and with no defenders present	Proficient Student can perform the skill but is missing one of the following: Student sets a target for the pass, catches the ball at the highest point. Uses hands consistently to catch ball. Student absorbs the ball in and quickly transitions from a catch into running with the ball	Excellent Student can combine catching with movement to avoid a defender. Student sets a target for the pass, catches the ball at the highest point. Uses hands consistently to catch ball. Route Running Demonstrates understanding of passing patterns as an observer and participant.	Insufficient Evidence Insufficient evidence to assess. Participation is crucial to changing this grade	Limited Student does not apply or know the passing patterns in their playbooks.	Satisfactory Student has some idea of the passing patterns but is inconsistent in performing them	Proficient Student knows the different types of patterns and can successfully complete them but is missing one of the following: Student understands and demonstrates the proper footwork required to run specific routes and how to adapt the routes based upon the defense. Maintains proper speed in and out of the route. Runs route and able to provide passing target	Excellent Student understands and demonstrates the proper footwork required to run specific routes and how to adapt the routes based upon the defense. RULES OF THE GAME Demonstrates competency of rules.	Insufficient Evidence Insufficient evidence to assess. Participation is crucial to changing this grade. Negatively contributing to the overall environment by arguing the rules incorrectly	Limited Student does not know what the rules of the game are after completing the football unit. Unsure of terms relating to rules	Satisfactory Student has some fair knowledge of the rules. Student Knows the basics,most important rules of the game.	Proficient Student knows most of the rules and is able to apply or make calls during game play	Excellent Student knows almost all the rules. Can help teach others that don't know all the rules. Understands the responsibilities of offensive and defensive positions, takes on the role of a self-referee. Understands how to modify the game for PE. Understands the boundaries and modifications and regularly adheres to them	TOTAL POINTS
