Student has some unnecessary movements/fidgets. Student has some closed off body language but also self corrected. Student makes some eye contact to engage their audience.
Meets Standards

Student stands grounded. Movement that is used is appropriate for the speech. Student engages their audience with appropriate eye contact the whole time.
Filler Words

Needs Improvement

Students speech is dominated by filler words. (um, like, uh, yeah) Student does not try to put in descriptive or imagery words.
Approaching Standards

Students speech contains some filler words, (um, like, uhh, yeah) but does not distract from the speech. Student puts in descriptive or imagery words.
Meets Standards

Students speech contains no filler words. (um, like, uhh, yeah) Student instead uses more descriptive or imagery words.
Voice (Pacing/Expression)

Student uses little to no expression in their voice. Student can not be heard or understood or speaks too slow/fast. (no pacing)

Student uses some expression in their voice. Student can be heard and understood through most of their speech. Some pacing is present.

Student uses expression in their voice. Student can be heard and understood through all of their speech. Their pacing is also consistent and engaging.
Writing

Needs Improvement

Students writing is off topic or does not flow. Presentation is hard to follow and lacks details to get the students point across.
Approaching Standards

Students writing follows the topic but does not always flow or is hard to follow at times. The writing needs a few more details to help get their point across.
Meets Standards

Students writing follows the topic and is easy to follow and understand. The writing has all the details to get their point across as well.
