Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, placement on stage and other details of dance. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of dance style.
Rhythm/Tempo

Beginning

Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.
Developing

Generally accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences most of the time.
Proficient

Accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences throughout the dance
Exemplary

Shows a complete understanding of tempo and beat and stays on rhythm throughout the dance.
Performance Skills

Beginning

The dancer is reserved and doesn't utilize eye contact, facial or body expression. Dancer loses focus.
Developing

The dance occasionally communicates through eye contact and facial and body expression. Occasionally loses focus.
Proficient

The dancer communicates through eye contact and facial and body expression. Remains engaged and focused.
Exemplary

The dancer is full out and expressive with being able to completely engage in facial and body expression.
