Freestyle

Relatively straight arms during the pull and recovery phase.
Continuous arm motion.
Body as streamlined as possible.
Fingers closed with the hands cupped slightly.
Breathing as required to the side.
Continuous smooth, consistent speed with kicking.

Head back, chest up streamlined position.
Proper rhythm maintained (one arm enters as other arm exits), little finger enters the water first and arms are straight beside ears.
Continuous kicking, slight knee bend with small splash.

Body horizontal with proper timing (pull, breathe, kick, glide)
Both legs demonstrate a proper whip kick motion with flexed feet during the kick and relaxed while gliding.
