Good

Established goals are clear and student-focused. Essential questions meet all 6 criteria listed in chapter 5. Understandings abide by the 5 definitions explained in chapter 6 (pp. 128-129). Acquisitions are substantive and achievable.
Stage 2

Good

Performance tasks are authentic and demonstrate the desired understandings. Criteria clearly explain how understanding will be judged. Other evidence (quizzes, tests, prompts, observations, homework, journals etc.) will allow students to demonstrate mastery of the material. Opportunities for students to reflect and self-assess are provided.
Stage 3

Good

The learning activities help students know where the unit is going and what is expected, help the teacher know where're the students are coming from, hook students and hold their interest, equip students, help them experience the key ideas and explore the issues, provide opportunities to rethink and revise their understandings and work, allow students to evaluate their work, are tailored to the different needs of the learners, and are organized to maximize learning.
