Antique sign. Student will produce an antique sign.

Layout and design. Design is accurate to the period chosen. Pattern is accurately reproduced to represent the time era the sign represents. All margins and spacing is adequate and the alphabet chosen accurately represents the age of the sign. Design is clearly dated to a specific era.	Poor Antique logo or layout is not time related and looks too modern. Font chosen is not representative of the era the sign was originally produced. Spacing and margins too tight.	Fair Logo or design represents appropriate time period. Some fonts are too modern for era chosen. Spacing and margins fair but not adequate.	Good Logo or design fits the period chosen. Spacing and margins are adequate and sign has a fair look of an antique period.	Excellent Logo or design chosen is accurate to time period chosen. Font and design elements clearly have a dated and antique look. Excellent use of spacing and margins.
Antique pattern. Pattern is accurately reproduced and ready to apply to sign blank.	Poor Blow-up or drawing is sloppy and not a clear representation of an past era. Perforations are not accurate to drawn lines and inadequate to allow powder to pass through. Pattern is misaligned to sign blank and transfer powder is smudged and messy.	Fair Pattern is drawn with some accuracy and perforations are adequate to allow powder to pass through. Applied powder is too thin or thick but can be seen Pattern is adequately centered.	Good Pattern is centered on sign blank and adequately powdered so lines are clean. Pattern is centered and guidelines are indicated accurately.	Excellent Pattern is exactly centered and the right amount of powder has been applied so the lines are clear and distinct with no smudging or excess powder on sign blank. All drawn guidelines are lightly drawn but clear enough to follow easily. Sign looks centered and ready to hand letter.
Painting antique sign. Choosing the right type of paint using colors authentic to time period chosen. Antiquing process looks authentic and proper antiquing techniques have been used. Finished sign looks authentically old.	Poor Wrong choice of paint. Too much gloss and too much coverage. Antiquing process is not adequate and sign looks too new. Some steps skipped in antiquing process.	Fair Flat paint used to represent proper fading. Too much coverage and sign looks only somewhat aged. Edges not distressed properly.	Good Proper flat paint is used and scraping and antiquing process is good. Distressing is adequate and paint coverage is appropriately spotty to indicate aging.	Excellent Flat paint used in proper amount to represent fading. Antiquing process is excellent with uneven aging over complete sign with no discernable pattern to aging process. Edges of sign are adequately distressed. Final antique wash gives sign authentic look of an aged sign.
