PASSING	Beginning Poor platform; no control of body; swings or "prays"	Developing Somewhat mechanically correct; minimal control on the move; good control when stationary	Average Mechanically correct; some control on the move; decent footwork to the ball; good control when stationary	Mastery Mechanically correct; accurate passes to the target; good control in most situations; good footwork to the ball
SETTING/OVERHEAD PASSING	Beginning Lack of mechanics; no body control; no sense of timing for receiving or releasing the ball	Developing Somewhat mechanically correct; needs work on timing for receiving and releasing and cannot get to the ball	Average Mechanically correct in overhead passing; good body control, timing; makes legal sets with some control of direction and height	Mastery Mechanically correct; makes consistent contact; maintains control with power; long reach; can set requested sets by coach/hitter
