low relief carving	Poor Image is just drawn onto clay and no attempt made at extracting any clay.	Fair Image is well drawn on and some clay was removed at parts of the relief image.	Good Image is well drawn out, carved at all sides and low relief is obvious.	Excellent Image is well drawn out, carved and has a strong low relief appearance.
score and slip	Poor No attempt made to add any clay to clay using score and slip.	Fair Clay was added to piece but no scoring resulting in the piece coming apart.	Good Clay was added to clay score and slip is evident in the piece but it is not finished appropriately. i.e lines smooth and seamless attachment.	Excellent Clay was added to clay score and slip is evident in the piece, it is finished appropriately. i.e lines smooth and seamless attachment.
colour and paint	Poor No care was taken in applying paint and it looks sloppy.	Fair some care was taken and details are seen. Colours suit the piece or are complimentary.
