Rubric to mark students' paintings. This one is intended for a organic watercolor painting.

	Poor 0 pts	Average 1 pts	Good 2 pts	Excellent 3 pts
Color Blending	Poor There was no color blending	Average There was minimal color blending.	Good The student did some color blending, however there was minimal amount of bleeding between the colors	Excellent All organic shapes had two colored blended with a good amount of color mixing.
The effort put into the painting	Poor The student did not even attempt to do their best work and wasted class time.	Average The student put in a minimal amount of work into their painting.	Good The student worked well on their painting but could have done a little bit more to finish it or taking the time to paint neater.	Excellent The student did their best work and spend additional time working on it. The painting was of great quality for that students ability.
Organic Shape	Poor Student created a poor organic shape that was unrecognizable and did not touch 3 sides of the paper	Average Student created a satisfactory organic shape only touched 2 sides of the paper	Good Student created an organic shape that touched 3 sides of the paper	Excellent Student created a recognizable organic shape that touched 3 sides of the paper.
Use of class time.	Poor The student was not on task the majority of class time.	Average The student was on task some of the time. (About 50% of the class time).	Good The student was somewhat on task during class time. (About 75% of the class time).	Excellent The student was on task the majority of class time.
Listening	Poor Did not listen or follow directions	Average Listened a little and did not follow all directions	Good Followed most directions and listened enough	Excellent Followed All directions and was listening in class
