Displays SOME athleticism. Volleyball skills not necessarily there, but potential for growth is possible

1 pts

Good

Clearly very athletic, has decent grasp on game and skills. Room for growth is certain

2 pts

Excelent

This kid can ball. He/she has clearly played competitive volleyball before; starter material.

3 pts

Serve

Can they:
Get the ball over the net? Hit spots? Impart spin on the ball? Hit a floater?

Poor

No. Absolutely not.
Fair

Most serves get over net, can't really hit spots that well, but it's better than nothing.
Good

Serves get over net, can hit spots sometimes. Can learn to spin/float ball
Excelent

Very good serves! Serves spin/float and spots are consistently hit.
Bump/Passing

Square up body? Bend knees? Doesn't swing arms? GETS BALL TO SETTER!!!???

Poor

Clueless.
Fair

Posture could be better. The setter has to run a lot. Shanks are common.
Good

Balls get up well, on target sometimes. Pretty good.
Excelent

Good all-around passing skills. Excellent hustle displayed.
Setting

Focus on footwork, hustle, hand-eye coordination, ability to set balls to good spots

Poor

Facepalm!!
Fair

Setting is sketchy, but basic skills are there.
Good

Setting form is good (rare for guys), balls come off hands with little spin, and are accurate for the most part
Excelent

Setting is very advanced. Setter can back-set and forearm pass balls to hitters too. Look out, Brody.
Hitting

Can hitter take good approach? Load up into the jump? Jump up and hit ball hard, without hitting net? Hit from multiple spots on court (left, right, middle, back row)

Poor

......
Fair

Approach may be awkward, jumping and hitting are okay. Body control is iffy.
Good

Hitter clearly has control over body. Although balls may not land in-bounds, hitter can grow.
Excelent

Hitter hits well from many spots on the floor.
Hustle/Athelticism

Does player appear like they could learn the game? Do they hustle to balls, GET ON THE FLOOR??

Poor

Painful to watch.
Fair

Probably played some sports in high school, have decent control over body, and is willing to get on the floor.
Good

Good hustle, will not hesitate to dive. Athlete can control the body well. Despite not knowing the game, they can learn quickly.
Excelent

Displays the hustle and fitness of a volleyball player. No learning curve.
