Design 5 pts	Level 1 Copied directly from material.	Level 2 Copied mostly from resource material with one or two changes.	Level 3 Used resource material as inspiration. Clearly time taken to plan out.	Level 4 Viewed resource materials for inspiration only. Was able to create own unique design with no visible resemblance to resource materials.
Craftsmanship 5 pts	Level 1 Very messy or incomplete.	Level 2 Messy with areas incomplete or empty spaces. There is no sense of symmetry.	Level 3 Skill level is on grade level. Student's use of colour and line was very good with exception of a few places which need some extra added time.	Level 4 Student's media skill level is exceptional. All media used is done with great time and care. Nothing could be added or taken away to improve the mandala.
Colour 5 pts	Level 1 Colours blend together with no real evidence of contrast. No thought given to use of colour.	Level 2 Some thought given to how colours work, but with minimal contrast.	Level 3 Colour scheme was planned and can be identified by colours used. Evidence of use of colour wheel.	Level 4 Colour scheme was well-planned and is easy to identify based on colours used. Colour wheel was used to choose a proper colour scheme.
