Level I

Student shows NO understanding of the types of activities that increase his/her heart rate. Student names and/or draws activities that DO NOT increase his/her heart rate or draws images that are NOT relevant to the question.
Level II

Student shows LITTLE understanding of the types of activities that increases his/her heart rate. Student is only able to name and/or draw ONE activity that increases his/her heart rate or TWO activities where the subject is moving but his/her heart rate is only SLIGHTLY increased. (i.e.- swinging on a swing, walking, playing catch).
Level III

Student shows MODERATE understanding of the types of activities that increase his/her heart rate. Student names and/or draws at THREE activities where the subject is participating causing his/her heart rate to MODERATELY increase. (i.e.- riding a bicycle, skiing, hula hooping).
Level IV

Student shows FULL understanding of the types of activities that increase his/her heart rate. Student names and/or draws FOUR activities where the subject is participating VIGOROUSLY causing his/her heart rate to GREATLY increase. (i.e.- running, playing soccer, jumping rope).

Level III

Student shows MODERATE understanding of why exercising is good for you. Student is able to list and/or draw TWO reason why exercising is good for you but DOES NOT go into detail when explaining or drawing the reasons. (i.e.- exercising increases your heart rate and and helps you live a longer life).
Level IV

Student shows FULL understanding of why exercising is good for you. Student is able to list and/or draw, with detail, TWO reason why exercising is good for you. (i.e.- exercising increases your heart rate allowing more oxygenated blood to be pumped through your body. Exercising helps you live a longer life by preventing diabetes and heart disease).
