Craftsmanship	Advanced Student formed vessel with single uniform slab. There are no visible seams where walls are overlapped. Vessel has nice smoothed walls where necessary. Decorative element was carefully applied.	Proficient Student formed vessel with single slab. Most seams are blended with limited seams visible. Evident that time was taken to smooth areas and apply the decorative element.	Approaching Student formed vessel with uneven slab or became uneven during construction. Seams are visible and or separating. Some attempt at smoothing but not consistent. Decorative element was not applied in a careful manner.	Not Proficient Student was unable to form vessel successfully. Slabs are separated and cracked. Sharp areas, no attempt to smooth rough areas. Decorative element was not applied or did stay attached or cannot see.
Creativity/Originality - Decorative Element	Advanced The artwork demonstrates original personal expression and outstanding problem solving skills. Decorative element stands out and adds unity to the vessel.	Proficient The artwork demonstrates some personal expression and some unique elements are evident. Glaze	Advanced Student used two or more glazes on the project. Application of glaze is even and opaque. Carefully applied with clean lines when necessary.	Proficient Student used at least two glazes colors. Most of the vessel is opaque. Limited area where glaze is thinner or clay is exposed. Attention to line detail when necessary.	Approaching Student did not use two colors and/or the glaze application is very uneven. Student did not keep track of layers. Clay is visible in multiple areas. Little attempt at line work.	Not Proficient Student didn't not complete glazing element or glaze application appears incomplete. Glaze is translucent and not glossy. No attempt at line work.
