Task 3 - Simple Electronic Circuit A simple electronic circuit that introduced the students to the theory and practical application of: Soldering; resistor/s; insulation; batteries; wiring; hot-glue construction and aesthetics.

Overall finished product Has the cube been successfuly completed? Should the LED switch on? Has it been hot-glued together? How does it look?	Poor The cube has not been completed. Many seams/joints missing hot-glue. The LED does NOT switch on. Hot-glue everywhere.	Progressing Cube is missing a component, but the MAJORITY has been completed. A seam/joint is missing hot-glue. The LED does NOT switch on. A lot of mis-applied hot-glue. (Minimum 3 out of 4 for this level of achievement).	Satisfactory A cube has been constructed. Hot-glue has been applied to all seams/joints. LED switches on! Satisfactory aesthetics (Minimum 3 out of 4 for this level of achievement).	Good A cube has been constructed. Hot-glue has been applied to all seams/joints. LED switches on! Soldering Are all the connections soldered properly? Are the connections solid? Is the soldered joint neat and tidy?	Poor More than one connection missing solder. Either a little too much or a little too little solder applied to the majority of joints. There are many "blobby" soldered joints. (Minimum 2 out of 3 for this level of achievement). Shrink tube insulation Has shrink-tube insulation been applied to all visible soldered joints? Has the insulation been applied properly?	Poor Shrink-tube insulation missing from MAJORITY of joints. Completion of circuit Is there evidence of a completed circuit? Is there evidence the student tried to reinforce the cell battery connection? Does the LED actually work?	Poor A visual inspection reveals: Many potential breaks in the circuit. The cell battery has no reinforement.. The LED does NOT switch on. (Minimum 2 out of 3 for this level of achievement). Hot glue construction Is the seams/joins of the cube strong? Has the hot-glue been applied neatly?	Poor Hot-glue missing from MANY seams/joints. Cube construction is VERY weak and easy to break and/or not completed. Large amounts of hot-glue misapplied. (Minimum 2 out of 3 for this level of achievement).	Progressing Hot-glue missing from a seam/joint. Cube construction is weak and easy to break. Amounts of hot-glue misapplied. (Minimum 2 out of 3 for this level of achievement). Aesthetic finish of cube Has the student applied a "pop-stick" finish to the cube? Does the "pop-stick" enhance the look of the cube? How does the cube look overall?	Poor The cube look a VERY messy - overall. Large amounts of hot-glue misapplied. No wooden "pop-stick" exterior applied. (Minimum 2 out of 3 for this level of achievement).	Progressing The cube look a little messy - overall. Amounts of hot-glue misapplied. No wooden "pop-stick" exterior applied. (Minimum 2 out of 3 for this level of achievement).	Satisfactory The cube looks neat and tidy - overall. Little or no extra hot-glue present. Wooden "pop-stick" exterior applied. (Minimum 2 out of 3 for this level of achievement).
