Students will be assessed on their overall ability and attitude toward the game of soccer. Students will be assessed on their performance of soccer skills and technique.

Dribbling	Needs Improvement Student uses toes to kick the ball Student does not show control and constantly is chasing after the ball Student cannot turn ball without stopping to pick it up with hands	Progressing Student only taps with one foot and only uses one surface of their foot to dribble. Student sometimes shows control of the ball Student stops the ball with hand or foot to turn around	Meeting Expectations Student uses both feet and can dribble using an inside/outside pattern with their foot Student usually shows control of the ball Student uses either the inside or outside of the foot to turn the ball without stop	Exceeds Expectations Student dribbles using all surfaces of foot (inside,outside, bottom, & laces) Student consistently shows control Student uses inside, outside, and sole to turn the ball without stop

Shooting	Needs Improvement Aim skill has not yet been mastered, student has no success with shooting the soccer ball into a desired goal.	Progressing Instep is not used majority of the time, soccer ball will ocassionally reach target and student will only use dominant kicking foot.	Meeting Expectations Contact the ball at the center with the instep, the non-kicking foot beside the ball in preparation for the kick.	Exceeds Expectations Focus eyes on the ball and keep arms free at sides for balance, contact the ball at the center with the instep, place the non-kicking foot besides the ball in preparation for the kick, kick with either foot, follow through in the direction of the kick
