Unified expressive composition 35 % Selected one or more studies of skeletal objects and used visual linking to group several parts or wholes into one unified line drawing. Drawing is in good proportion to paper size.	Moderate The student did the artwork but it appears unplanned and weak in visual linking. Arrangement lacks expressiveness or sensitivity. The project is not well proportioned to the picture frame.	Good The student did the artwork with good planning and linking so there is an interesting relationship among parts. The project looks well fitted to the picture frame.	Excellent The student planned the concept of linking structural objects or units in a highly unusual, cohesive arrangement. There is considerable originality that comes from improvising and taking risks before the final decisions and execution of the artwork.
Interesting drawing 35 % Observed structure in a variety of natural objects and made marker/brush drawing with interesting details and characteristics of skeletal objects.	Moderate The student fulfilled the assignment, but there is little evidence of careful observational drawing. There is no evidence of trying unusual skeletal objects.	Good The student presented careful observational drawing. The use of different line types and level of details is expressive. The drawing shows unusual discovery from observation of many types of skeletal objects.	Excellent The student presented a drawing done with an acute eye for interior and exterior skeletal units. Proportion, directional movement and rhythm are implied by the shape and line characteristics selected from structure observed in nature.
Well crafted drawing 30 % Drawing attributes of size and location look intentional and planned. Drawing materials are handled with sensitivity.	Moderate The student finished the drawing but there is no conscious use of marker and/or paint application. Presentation looks unintentional, perhaps rushed.	Good The student maintained, "intentional"looking craft, overall. However there are some areas where use of materials is a little precarious.	Excellent The student presented a polished, well rehearsed and generous drawing. The materials are applied in a manner that highlights the idea behind the drawn imagery.
