Fair Student failed to meet the average level of competency in one or more area.	Poor Student failed to meet the average level of competency in both areas or did not slate the introduction at all.
Articulation	Excellent Student clearly articulated the words of the monologue at all times.	Good Student clearly articulated the words of the monologue most of the time.	Average Student articulated the words of the monologue some of the time.	Fair Student rarely articulated well.	Poor Student did not clearly articulate and was difficult to understand.
Projection	Excellent Monologue is easy to understand and hear. All words are clear and loud enough to hear,	Good Most of the monologue is easy to understand and hear. Most words are clear and loud enough to hear.	Average Most of the monologue is easy to understand, but needs to work on projection.	Fair Trouble hearing and understanding the monologue, but the student could be heard by the audience sometimes.
