	D Poor 1 pts	C Fair 2 pts	B Good 3 pts	A Excellent 4 pts
Understanding Rules and Gameplay	D Poor Student did not understand or pay attention to the rules of four square. Student needed to be instructed what to do on a consistent basis.	C Fair Student showed some understanding of the rules of four square. Student often had to be reminded of the rules and rotation of four square.	B Good Student was mostly confident in his/her game play. Showed proper understanding of the rules and strategies of the game. Rarely need to be reminded of the rules and rotation of four square.	A Excellent Student understood all rules of four square. Understood and executed strategies to become successful while playing.
Serving	D Poor Student served incorrectly by tossing, serving without bouncing the ball in their square once, or bouncing and catching the ball before attempting to serve.	C Fair Student allowed one bounce within their square, but served the ball by tapping with one hand or overhanded with both hands to the opponent's square.	B Good Student served the ball properly, but would sometimes serve incorrectly by not allowing a bounce first.	A Excellent Student properly served the ball by allowing one bounce within their square prior to tapping the ball underhanded with two hands to their opponent's square.

A Maximum The student made an effort to play every ball rallied or served to them and moved everywhere within their space to play the ball in some manner.
