Quick Release Knot Students will be able to successfully follow the steps in order to create an effective quick release knot. This is a vital skill in which the student can either produce the knot, or is unable to produce the knot and will be scored accordingly. Length of tie	Poor Student has left the rope far too long or far too short	Excellent Student has allowed the horse a 1-2 ft length of rope

Creating the knot	Poor Student was unable to tie the knot	Excellent Student has created the knot from the "four" and it is secure
Quick release	Poor When the end is pulled, the knot does not release	Excellent When the end is pulled, the knot releases and is easily undone
