Student was off task a lot, either with talking or just not staying focused. Did not try to make any corrections or adjustments to work when mistakes were pointed out. Either "finished" work a full day early or work was turned in a day or more late. Student did not follow most of the rules for the project and did his/her own thing.

Student was off task regularly. May or may not have reflected on work. Few if any corrections made. Either finished work very early or finished last minute to due being off task. Student followed some but not all rules for this project.

Student used most of the allotted class time to work on project. Reflected on work but did not make all needed adjustments. Was occasionally off task but completed project on time. Student followed most of the rules of the project.
Excellent

Student used virtually all allotted class time to work on project. Reflected on work and made improvements. Was always on task.Completed project on time. Student followed all rules pertaining to the project or discussed other options with me.

This paper is very messy. The student colored in all sorts of directions. There may be several pencil marks still visible. The paper itself is crumpled or bent. This student did not appear to care about the quality of the work as much as the cared about finishing the project.

This work is fairly messy. Coloring changes directions and looks disorganized in places. Several pencil marks left showing. This person did not seem to take extra effort to create a neat work of art.

This work is pretty neat. May have a stray mark or two or colored outside the lines somewhere. There may be a pencil mark that was not covered. Paper itself is in good condition.
Excellent

This work is extremely neat. All coloring is organized and no pencil marks are showing. Paper is in good condition, not bend, torn or crumpled.

Figures take up less than half the page. They are not overlapping and do not appear to belong together in any kind of activity.
Average

The figures only take up about 50% of the page. They are visually off balanced to one side or there are large gaps in between two or more of them. Figures do not overlap and may not appear to belong together in activity on the page.
Above Average

The figures take up between 50-75% of the page. They might be a little off balanced with a slightly eye catching empty space in the background. Not all figures overlap as you go across the page gut they do seem to belong together in their activity.
Excellent

The figures take up at least 75% of the space and are balanced visually balanced on the paper. There are no strikingly empty spaces in the background. Figures overlap and appear to belong together as a group in their activity.
Use of Color

This student colored the composition as a scene or repeated 3 colors or less across the composition. Some colors may have been darker, getting away from the idea of activity.

Student repeated a set of colors across the composition. There is not enough variety of colors to indicated a lot of activity.

Student used mostly bright colors on figures and background but not a variety. Tended to repeat a color once or twice.

Student used an array of bright colors on the figures and background, indicating much activity.
