Greek God/Goddess Celebrity Portraits

Students chose a celebrity or friend to draw a portrait in proper proportion and realistic and natural observational detail. They then turned that person into a Greek or Roman god or goddess by adding Greco-Roman clothing, accessories and background.

Realistic & Natural Features Careful observation has been made and the features of the portrait look realistic and natural with attention to detail. Natural & Realistic Hair Evidence of making hair look natural and realistic.	Exceeds Expectations Good observation and careful attention to hair. Approaching Expectations Only a little attention has been given to the hair and therefore it doesn't look very natural. Greco-Roman Accessories Creative use of Greek or Roman hair accessories and/or clothing.	Exceeds Expectations Great use and well rendered Greek or Roman hair accessories and clothing like wreaths in hair, headbands, helmets, togas, robes, jewelry, etc.	Meets Expectations Pretty good use of Greek or Roman accessories and clothing but could be slightly better executed. Shading & Value Realistic shading and value to show the 3-dimensionality of the head, neck and facial features and clothing. Meets Expectations Good attempt at working with the medium, but could use just a few more finishing touches.	Approaching Expectations Some attempt to control the medium, but not finished with careful effort or neatness. It's somewhat messy.
