Proper Set Up	Level 1 Student could not set up the machine without assistance.	Level 2 Student slowly or carelessly sets up the machine with some assistance or guidance.	Level 3 Student quickly and neatly sets up the machine with minor assistance or guidance; OR no assistance was needed, but set up was somewhat slow or careless.	Level 4 Student quickly and easily sets up machine without any assistance or guidance.
Upper Thread	Level 1 Student could not thread the machine without assistance.	Level 2 Student slowly or carelessly threaded the machine with some assistance or guidance.	Level 3 Student quickly and neatly threaded the machine with minor assistance or guidance; OR no assistance was needed, but threading was somewhat slow or careless.	Level 4 Student quickly and neatly threaded the machine without any assistance or guidance.
Bobbin	Level 1 Student could not thread the bobbin without assistance.	Level 2 Student slowly or carelessly threaded the bobbin with some assistance or guidance.	Level 3 Student quickly and neatly threaded the bobbin with minor assistance or guidance; OR no assistance was needed, but threading was somewhat slow or careless.	Level 4 Student quickly and neatly threaded the bobbin without any assistance or guidance.
Straight Stitch	Level 1 Stitch is not straight or even.	Level 2 Stitch is somewhat straight and/or even.	Level 3 Stitch is visibly straight and even.	Level 4 Stitch is perfectly straight and even.
Zigzag Stitch	Level 1 Stitch is not straight and zigzag is uneven.	Level 2 Stitch is somewhat straight and zigzag is mostly even.	Level 3 Stitch is visibly straight and zigzag is even.	Level 4 Stitch is perfectly straight and zigzag even.
Backstitching	Level 1 Backstitch is not straight over original and ends are uneven.	Level 2 Backstitch is somewhat straight over original and ends are a bit uneven.	Level 3 Backstitch is visibly straight over original and is visibly even at both ends.	Level 4 Backstitch is straight over original and is even at both ends.
Sharp Angle Turn	Level 1 Angle is less than 65 or more than 115 degrees.	Level 2 Angle is 65-75 or 105-115 degrees.	Level 3 Angle is between 75-85 or 95-105 degrees.	Level 4 Angle is perfectly 90 degrees (off by no more than 5 degrees either way).
Curved Stitching	Level 1 Curve is not even and has many blips.	Level 2 Curve is somewhat even with a few visible blips.	Level 3 Curve is mostly even with very minor blips.	Level 4 Curve is even and smooth.
Seam Allowance	Level 1 Seam allowance is not even for the majority of the length of the seam.	Level 2 Seam allowance is somewhat even for most of the length of the seam.	Level 3 Seam allowance is visibly even the length of the seam.	Level 4 Seam allowance is perfectly even the whole length of the seam.
