Forward Skate	Not there yet I can rollerblade forward with the basic walk.	Approaching I can mix between the walk and a stride.	Proficient I can stride forward but has hesitation at times.	Destinguished I can demonstrate balance, proper stance, ready position and forward movement when skating. I can
Heel Braking	Not there yet I can put the heel of the skate on the surface but not while moving or gliding.	Approaching I can glide forward, and start to put the heel of the skate on the surface.	Proficient I am able to glide forward and put the heel of the skate on the surface and come to a complete stop.	Destinguished I can heel brake at anytime and at any speed.
Turning	Not there yet I can stand still and turn in some directions.	Approaching I can turn one direction after gliding.	Proficient I can turn in both directions while gliding.	Destinguished I can turn in all directions and change my speed and glide with my turns.
Backward skating	Not there yet I can walk backward with my rollerblades with assistance.	Approaching I can glide backwards with some difficulty and need assistance.	Proficient I can glide backwards without assistance.	Destinguished I can glide backwards and change directions with good speed and control.
