Feet/Knees	Needs Improvement Not staggered and/or narrow base	Developing Sometimes staggered and wide, hips not pointing at target	Proficient Often staggered and wide, hips facing target.	Advanced Staggered consistently. <BR> Demonstrates ability to lead with right or left foot, adjusting for different targets. Hips are consistently facing target, can effectively make adjustment to left and right.
Hands/Wrist	Needs Improvement Hands do not stay together when contacting the ball, creating a double hit.	Developing Hands stay together. Wrist are not directed down toward the floor.	Proficient Hands stay together, wrists are directed down toward the floor.	Advanced Change hands into position quickly. Doesn't stand with hands together. Moves body into position before putting hands together. Able to direct the ball to the intended target.
Elbows/forearms	Needs Improvement Elbows remain bent,<BR> ball does not contact both forearms.	Developing Elbows straight but strikes one arm only, body not centered behind the ball. Platform	Needs Improvement Swinging your arms<BR> Bending elbows -"prayer"<BR> Jumping up<BR> Stabbing at the ball	Developing Arms start low and swing up to 45 degrees or platform is too low or too high. Contacts ball outside body.	Proficient Arms are stationery at 45 degree angle at contact. Usually contacts ball in midline (between hips). Sometimes able to freeze platform at contact.	Advanced Arms are stationery at 45 degree angle, body is relaxed. Player can freeze platform at point of contact. Platform is facing target area and ball is played between hips/shoulders
Movement to Ball	Needs Improvement Does not move to the ball. Is stationery on the court.	Developing Movement to the ball is delayed resulting in run-throughs or unnecessary diving.	Proficient Moves to the ball fluidly, staying low. Is often able to get into a stable platform position at contact.	Advanced Moves fluidly to the ball, contacts the ball in a low, stable platform. Is able to anticipate ball trajectory and, therefore, move into position before the ball arrives.
Accuracy	Needs Improvement No contact or shanks the ball off to an out of bounds area.	Developing Ball gets to a playable area, but setter is able to set only 1 attack.
