CFJH Soccer Skills Assessment

Students will be assessed on their overall ability and attitude toward the game of soccer. Students will be assessed on their performance of soccer skills and technique.

Soccer Skills Assessment Dribbling, Passing and Recieving

Dribbling ball 25 yards w/ turn	Needs Improvement Student uses toes to kick the ball, does not have control and constantly chasing after the ball. When the ball is turned there is not control of the ball.	Developing Student only dribbles with one foot and only uses one surface of their foot to dribble. When turning the ball has to stop it instead of using inside or outside of foot.	Meets Expectations Student uses both feet and shows they can dribble forward using an inside/outside pattern with their foot. When turning they use either the inside or outside of the foot.	Exceeds Expectations Student dribbles forward using all surfaces of their foot (inside,outside, bottom, & laces). When turning the ball they use inside or outside and accelerate after the turn.
Passing the ball to a Partner	Needs Improvement Student passes the ball with their toe and ball does not reach their target.	Developing Student passes the ball with the inside of their foot but it does not reach their partners foot.	Meets Expectations Student passes the ball to their partners foot. They use the inside of their foot to pass and plants the opposite foot next to the ball.	Exceeds Expectations Student passes the ball to the partners foot. Student uses the inside of their foot. They can also accurately pass the ball using their laces or outside of the foot.
Receiving a pass from a partner	Needs Improvement Student does not communicate with their partner and is flat on their feet. The ball bounces away and is not controlled with two touches.	Developing Student communicates they want a pass and receives the ball using the inside of the foot but has to control it with two touches.	Meets Expectations Student communicates with partner they want a pass and receives the ball with the inside of the foot under control in one touch.	Exceeds Expectations Student communicates they want a pass verbal or physically show where they want the pass and uses inside of the foot, laces, or bottom of the foot to control the pass. The ball is controlled in one touch.
Throw ins	Needs Improvement Students will either run or stand flat footed but will preform an illegal through by lifting a foot. They will not have brought ball behind head. The ball will not fly a great distance.	Developing Students will be able to stand with flat footed and bring ball behind head, releasing ball slightly late and not achieve maximum distance, and following through with hands pointing at target.	Meets Expectations Student will be able to run and drag back foot, while bring ball behind head, releasing the above head for greatest distance, and following through with hands pointing at target.	Exceeds Expectations Student will be able to run and drag back foot, while bring ball behind head, releasing the above head for greatest distance, and following through with hands pointing at target
Position play	Needs Improvement Does not stay in position, shows little or no understanding of position role.	Developing Shows a little understanding of position role but does not stay in position most of the time.	Meets Expectations Shows understanding of the position role, stays in position mostly but still lacks full proper execution of the position role.	Exceeds Expectations Shows complete understanding of the position role, stays in position and executes positions roles.
Teamwork	Needs Improvement Often uses the same teammates or does not participate.	Developing Student generally uses the same teammates but occasionally uses the whole team. Rarely communicates with the team.	Meets Expectations Student rarely uses the same teammates and often uses the whole team. Sometimes communicates with the team. Rules and Fairplay	Needs Improvement Student displays lack of fair play. Sometimes follows rules and argues with other students.	Developing Student displays a good sense of fair play. Usually follows the rules and occasionally argues with other students, but overall, their progress is satisfactory.	Meets Expectations Student displays a very good sense of fair play. Student almost always follows the rules and rarely argues with other students.	Exceeds Expectations Student displays an excellent sense of fair play. Student always follows the rules and never argues with the other students.
