Student accuratly used Complementar	Poor The page has a large amount of negative space unpainted.	Fair A small amount of negative space is left on the page.	Good There is little or no negative space left on the page.	Excellent The entire page is filled with a balanced amount of negative and positive space.
The effort put into the painting	Poor The student did not even attempt to do their best work.	Fair The student put in a minimal amount of work into their painting.	Good The student worked well on their painting but could have done a little bit more to finish it.	Excellent The student did their best work. The painting was of great quality for that students ability.
Inanimate objects	Poor The student does not understand what inanimate objects are and has reflected this in their work.	Fair The student understands the term inanimate, yet their work does not demonstrate a clear understanding.	Good The student understands the term inanimate and has displayed this with the use of inanimate objects.
