Numerous mistakes, no attempt to cover mistakes. Facial expressions not appropriate for performance. Dancer did not make good use of the space.

Obvious mistakes. Dancer does not make a good effort to cover the mistakes. Obvious changes in facial expressions that are not appropriate for the performance. Some talking during the performance. Dancer did not make good use of the space.

Good performance. Some mistakes. Good cover-up of mistakes. Only slight change in facial expressions with mistakes. Dancer did not talk during performance. Dancer used a majority of the space for most of the performance. Stayed in character for the majority of the performance. Some effort into a costume may be seen.

Excellent performance. No obvious mistakes. Excellent cover-up of mistakes. Face expressions appropriate for performance. Dancer did not talk during performance. Dancer made excellent use of the space for the entire performance. Always in character. Came prepared with costume. Clothing and make-up work with the theme of the dance. Technique needs work, some progress seen.

Proficient technique seen in movements chosen. Dance choose movements that fit their ability and show off their strengths. Feet pointed, legs long, arms extended where appropriate. Some visible improvements needed in technique. Good effort.

Excellent technique, feet, arms/legs always extended, pointed and used appropriately throughout dance. Excellent choice of movements for dancers ability. Shows a very high level of technical ability. Very well done. Pushed oneself outside of technical ability and growth apparent.
