Year 2 Soccer Skills Assessment 
Students apply fundamental movement skills in different movement situations and explain how they move with objects and in space effectively. - Practice fundamental movement skills and apply them in a variety of movement situations AC9HP2M01 - Investigate different ways of moving their body, and manipulating objects and space, and draw conclusions about their effectiveness. Students will be assessed on their performance of soccer skills, technique and sportsmanship.

Dribbling ball

Meets or exceeds excellence

Student uses both feet and shows they can dribble forward using an inside/outside pattern with their foot. When turing they use either the inside or outside of the foot.
Meets a proficient level

Student only dribbles with one foot and only uses one surface of their foot to dribble. When turning the ball has to stop it instead of using inside or outside of foot.
Adequate but needs improvement

Student uses toes to kick the ball, does not have control and constantly chasing after the ball. When the ball is turned there is not control of the ball.
Passing the ball to a Partner

Meets or exceeds excellence

Student passes the ball to their partners foot. <BR>
They use the inside of their foot to pass and plants the opposite foot next to the ball.
Meets a proficient level

Student passes the ball with the inside of their foot but it does not reach their partners foot.
Adequate but needs improvement

Student passes the ball with their toe and ball does not reach their target.
Receiving a pass from a partner

Meets or exceeds excellence

Student communicates with partner they want a pass and receives the ball with the inside of the foot under control in one touch.
Meets a proficient level

Student communicates they want a pass and receives the ball using the inside of the foot but has to control it with two touches.
Adequate but needs improvement

Student does not communicate with their partner and is flat on their feet. The ball bounces away and is not controlled with two touches
Participation

Meets or exceeds excellence

Student participates every class and moves around the field constantly to be ready to receive the ball or set up a play..
Meets a proficient level

Student participates most often and follows the ball around the field, will sometimes wait for a pass.
Adequate but needs improvement

Student occasionally participates or spends a lot of time standing around waiting for the ball to come to them.
Sportsmanship

Meets or exceeds excellence

Student encourages and respects others and themselves. They make sure to listen to the teacher and others in a respectable manner.
Meets a proficient level

Student encourages and respects others, listens to others/teacher when they are talking.
Adequate but needs improvement

Student occasionally does not respect others and/or themselves.
Overcoming challenges

Meets or exceeds excellence

Readily receives and invites feedback. Improves their skills based on feedback and demonstrates a high level of participating despite setbacks.
Meets a proficient level

Listens to feedback and attempts to correct and improve their skills based on the feedback. Continues to try despite setbacks.
Adequate but needs improvement

Ignores feedback provided and gives up easily when the task seems too difficult.
