There was no sketch and no planning evidence.
Fair

The artist submitted an idea, however there was just a minimal amount of information and detail. Clearly the artist did not revisit and improve their design after their first effort.
Good

The sketch was thoughtful and creative, yet the idea did not include detail and revisions based upon peer edits.
Excellent

There is a great deal of thought and effort in the planning of this project. The artist was deliberate in their planning and work process. All sketches were submitted in a timely manner and revisions were made after class discussion.
Craftsmanship

Poor

The project is cracked at the seems and is not balanced visually.
Fair

The artist did not measure and clearly forced the different pieces to work together. The project is not smooth and there are cracks at the joints.
Good

The pieces were attached, yet there was some evidence of the seams and the inaccuracy of the measuring.
Excellent

The work was securely attached and the joints that were connected are not traceable. The artist smoothed the work and scorred and attached measured pieces. The calipars were used in this process.
Requirements Met

The student did not complete the project and only submitted a single bowl or cone shaped project. There was little or no planning and the artist just threw together forms.
The finishing was basic and sloppy.

The project contains more than four pieces that are creatively connected.
The work stands on it's own and is finished, smooth and has an even application of glaze.
The project is balanced and sturdy.
There is attention to detail. The piece includes small details that accent the work.
