jumping

A form of locomotion in which the body weight is projected from one or two feet and<BR>
lands on two feet.

Learning

little to no balance on take off or landing and looks more like a hop
Working Towards

Jumps with proper form from one or two feet but shows lack of control on take off or landing, may have a little trouble maintaining across gym.
Satisfactory

Jumps from two legs with solid take off and landing repeatedly across gym only breaking pattern occasionally.
Excellent

Jumps consistently from 2 feet and landing on 2 feet across the gym with out breaking pattern
running

A form of locomotion much like the walk except that the tempo and body lean differ.<BR>
There is no time when both feet are on the ground simultaneously. Runner should also show body control and be able to stop on designated line.

Learning

Rarely runs looking straight ahead. Little or no arm movement.
Working Towards

Usually looks straight ahead with some arm movement.
Satisfactory

Looks straight ahead while running and feet and arms are moving in a straight line in the direction of movement. May have little trouble with stopping right on line.
Excellent

Same as satisfactory with proper body control for stop and start line to line.
Sidestep

Sideways movement where the lead foot moves and is followed by the other foot.

Learning

Movement resembles gallop or feet cross.
Working Towards

Movement is sideways but feet sometimes cross.
Satisfactory

Consistent sideways movement with either foot leading and feet do not cross.
Excellent

Consistent sideways movement, without crossing feet at a good pace across the gym always facing sideways under control.
Karaoke(Grapevine)

Advanced form of locomotion, which is a combination of open step by lead foot, rear foot crosses in front, open step by lead foot, rear foot crosses behind then combination repeats. Same lead foot throughout while rear foot alternates crossing in front then behind. Arms are straight out at sides and rotate back and forth with hips, Head and shoulders face one direction whole time.

Learning

Confusion remembering pattern, or crosses too far turning whole body.
Working Towards

Knows the pattern and can walk through pattern across the gym with only occasional confusion.
Satisfactory

Can do the pattern across the gym at slow jog pace.
Excellent

Can do pattern at a run pace, keeping head and shoulder in rhythm with the movement of hips, legs and feet quickly across the gym.
