Rules of the Game Demonstrates competency of rules.	Below Basic Student does not know what the rules of the game are after completing the football unit. Unsure of terms relating to rules	Basic Student has some fair knowledge of the rules. Student Knows the basics,most important rules of the game.	Above Basic Student knows most of the rules and is able to apply or make calls during game play	Proficient Student knows almost all the rules. Can help teach others that don't know all the rules.
Passing Patterns Demonstrates understanding of passing patterns as an observer and participant.	Below Basic Student don't know the passing patterns after completing the unit.	Basic Student has some idea of the passing patterns but is not sure on how to do them.	Above Basic Student knows the different types of patterns and can successfuly complete them.	Proficient Student knows different types of pass patterns and is able to assign and teach to players when in quarterback role.
Passing Demonstrates understanding of offensive passing strategies.	Below Basic Student doesnt try and fails throughout the unit to correctly learn how to pass the ball.	Basic Student picks up the basic skills on how to pass but at times does not use the skills properly.	Above Basic Student passes the ball correctly most of the time. The student uses the correct passing technique.	Proficient Student passes the ball with proficiency. Able to pass to stationary and moving targets during game play
Catching Exhibits skill to catch a pass throw while stationary and moving.	Below Basic Student doesnt try and fails throughout the unit to correctly learn how to catch the ball	Basic Student can perform skill with some consistency in a non game situation and with no defenders present	Above Basic Student can perform the skill in a game situation when left ungaurded	Proficient Student can combine catching with movement to avoid a defender
