Knowledge Gained/Technique	Level 1 The page has a large portion of white left uncolored.	Level 2 A small amount of white is left on the page.	Level 3 There is little or no white left on the page.	Level 4 The entire page is filled beautifully with no white spots left unless they were added later with white pencil crayon.
Colour Choice	Level 1 Student needs to work on learning color techniques and relationships and use that knowledge in his/her work.	Level 2 Choice and application of color techniques show some knowledge of color relationships.	Level 3 Choice and application of color techniques show knowledge of color relationships.	Level 4 Choice and application of color techniques show an advanced knowledge of color relationships.
Effort	Level 1 The student did not even attempt to do their best work.	Level 2 The student put in a minimal amount of work into their artwork.	Level 3 The student worked well on their coloring, but could have done a little bit more to finish it.	Level 4 The student did their best work. The coloring was of great quality for that students ability.
Use of class time.	Level 1 The student was not on task the majority of class time.	Level 2 The student was on task some of the time. (About 50% of the class time).	Level 3 The student was somewhat on task during class time. (About 75% of the class time).	Level 4 The student was on task the majority of class time.
