Design Content	Excellent Background is successfully tiled and elements are layered to make the subject and the background merge in the style of Wiley. Multiple layers were utilized showing great control and intentional design.	Good Background is successfully tiled and elements are somewhat layered to make the subject and the background merge in the style of Wiley. Pattern is somewhat detailed. Little use has been made of pattern, shading, or texture. Some additional layers were utilized showing good skill and intentional design, but more layering is needed. Creativity	Excellent Student used his or her identity to inspire the portrait through pose, background, and style. All parts reflect a strong idea of who he or she is.	Good Student used some of his or her identity to inspire the portrait but the combination of everything is not completely consistent with their original idea.	Fair Students has made an attempt to represent his or her identity but did not do so in a successful way. Major parts of the portrait do not work well together as a whole idea. Craftsmanship	Excellent Portrait is neatly done with extreme attention to detail. The portrait is well worked and it is obvious the student put their best efforts into the final product.	Good Portrait is neat but just a few parts could use a little more attention. The portrait shows a large effort by the artist was put into making it.	Fair An attempt to make the portrait well done was made but was not successful. The student could spend much more time refining details and parts of the portrait.	Unacceptable No attempt has been made to make the portrait look finalized or neat.
