Students will be constructing a tall vase from larger clay coils and knitting them together to create a seamless vase from a sketch they create.

Slab Lantern with Negative Space

Using a digital photo, grid the photo in a 2.5 cms grid. Then create a x2 cms grid on your drawing paper to transfer your drawing to. After transferring your drawing using the grid, use two different mediums and color/shade your drawing. You will be graded on incorporating your own personal artistic style, use composition and design, craftsmanship, and effort.

Students will create a 5 value scale and use acrylic paint to effectively demonstrate how to create a monochromatic painting progressively moving from dark to light as well as mix complements to create neutral colors.

The presentation will contain information about their artwork and how it relates to the social issue and the theme of "togetherness". The oral presentation must be aligned with their artwork and the social issue they picked.

Student will select a photograph with strong contrast between light and dark values/shades.

Art history research, project, presentation and collaboration during the art history unit and art night.

Etch your original design on plexiglass and print six original art prints using the processes we have learned in class.

Students will draw from a still life and apply drawing and shading techniques they have learned to render a final drawing that illustrates their understanding of drawing concepts and elements and principles of design, effective use of media, and skilled craftsmanship to create a cohesive composition.

Find a fictional character that meets criteria for one or more psychological disorders in the DSM-V. Write a 2 page paper that discusses the following information: 1. A brief biography of the character 2. A current picture of what is going on in the character's life 3. The symptoms the character is exhibiting 4. The DSM-V diagnoses that have criteria met from these symptoms; or the ones that are not met and what is missing from the symptoms presented (e.g. subclinical; NOS; V codes)
