Students answer questions about an informational text. Students answer questions about the text in complete sentences, referring explicitly to the text for their answers.

Rewrite the book for a Kindergarten or 1st grade audience. Use short sentences and age-appropriate words so that they can read it easily. Make sure to include all major parts of the story.  Illustrate each page to go along with the story

Book report on a nonfiction book. Critical look at chapters, parts of the book and the difference between fiction and non fiction.

Students will create a wanted poster for General Zaroff from "The Most Dangerous Game" (at least 3) including physical descriptions, crime descriptions, where-abouts, allies (If any), aliases, a photo, and any other necessary information to ensure his safe capture.

Rubric for Literature-Based Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) assignments.

Students are required to answer comprehension questions doing/after class readings. Answers must be written in complete sentences.

When asked to define vocabulary. Students will use the Frayer Model to explain the vocabulary words. Students will write the word, define the word, write a sentence using the word and draw a picture explaining the word. (C.C.R.S.T.1)

The students have to write a film review (140-190 words) about their favourite movie for an online magazine including the information below: Films with great music: We’re looking for reviews of ?lms that have plenty of singing or great music in them. They may be musicals, but they don’t have to be. Your review should include information about the plot, the cast, the music, and other relevant information. Would you recommend this ?lm to other people your age?
