This rubric is set up to test our students' knowledge of the material that we taught them and how well they can apply that knowledge. It will test their knowledge gained from all three of our microlessons.

This will be the rubric for grading students on their interaction and understanding of American Civics.

After experiencing three lessons centered around war poetry from the American Revolution, the American Civil War, and World War One, our students should have a firm command of basic poetic terminology, a rough sense of American history, and the intersections between the two.

Students will be able to recall working definitions of poetry and lyrics. Students will be able to illustrate the relationship between poetry and music and will be able to describe how adding music to a performance of a poem impacts the meaning. Students will work in groups to complete a cinquain or fib poem. Students will analyze their poem and create or find music that enhances the poem's meaning and perform the final product using music and movement to accompany a performance of their poem.
