Book Club Newspaper
Together with your group create a newspaper based on your book. Choose events from your story and develop them into newspaper articles (remember to answer the 5 Wh- questions). Include colorful drawings that reflect the part of the book you are reading at present. Create ads for sales of various things that would be of interest to your characters. Choose an unfamiliar word, explain its meaning and use it in a sentence. Select a quote that is significant for the part of the book you are reading now. Make sure your newspaper is neat, shows creativity, and it is free of grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. Be ready to present your newspaper and explain your choices to the whole class. Every student is required to write at least one article, preferably two, contribute a drawing, create an ad, and choose a word of the week and a quote of the week for the newspaper.
